DALLAS—Onu Ventures’ founder & CEO Mikial Onu was named to the 2024 Dallas 500, D CEO Magazine’s annual list recognizing the most powerful business leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Popularly known as the D500, the annual publication profiles the top 500 North Texas executives across 50 different industry categories.

D CEO Magazine’s editors compile the list after months of research and hundreds of personal interviews, as noted on its official release page. With Dallas-Fort Worth’s stature as the largest economy in the American South and one of the world’s top places for business, the D500 is an exclusive list that only the most respected business leaders have the privilege to make.
Mr. Onu, a former college football standout for Southern Methodist University, founded Onu Ventures at the end of 2021 as a socially conscious real estate development firm. The stated mission of Onu Ventures is to reclaim and revitalize underserved, underutilized communities across North Texas and the entire Sun Belt region.
Mr. Onu’s placement on the D500 list represents a culmination of an incredible period of expansion for Onu Ventures. In just the past 12 months, Onu Ventures has grown to own or control over 70 acres of property across Texas. Among them is The Adaline, the 12-acre mixed-use development comprising 10,000-square feet of retail space, an outdoor entertainment venue, and a 238-unit apartment complex, which will be a major economic catalyst for Southern Dallas County and the Best Southwest area when completed in 2025.
